VH1 Getting Back to Basics

The God's must have heard our prayers: VH1's new lineup has more music, less reality. Favorites such as VH1 Divas and Behind the Music will make a return, as well as Storytellers. Though I must admit the cheesiness of guilty pleasures Tool Academy and Charm School reeled me in, I really am glad to see them going back to their roots.Too many reality shows have popped up recently, and even if some have some great entertainment value (Project Runway, Amazing Race, Survivor), the majority, especially those on MTV and VH1, have done nothing but serve as spring board for people trying to get famous without actually working for it (although, pretending you are into flavor flav might be harder than it looks). That said, I certainly hope MTV also follows this trend. However, given that they dropped the "Music" from their logo, I doubt that will happen anytime soon. Does anyone know if MTV2 still exists, or has that gone the way or reality as well?

This is making me nostalgic for the days when I used to watch my favorite artists on MTV, and how much I really miss it. It's a shame that after The Real World took off, MTV decided to devote more time to the reality craze. I can't even think of any iconic videos anymore, a la Thriller, Like a Virgin, or November Rain. But then again, I'm no longer hip to the latest craze (which should be obvious based on that last sentence.)
