There are so many reasons to love The Vampire Diaries, but they have just given me one more: Kelly Hu as Pearl. Here I thought Bonnie's Grams was the only person that could bring Damon to his knees "I've got 400 years on you, little boy," she sneers right before gouging his eyes with her fingers. She's right, she does have more power, but so did Lexie, and we all know what happened to her(if you don't, I suggest you check out the "169 Candles" episode.) Mystic Falls might be getting a little full at this point, but if they keep bringing on the uber-vamps like Miss Pearl, I don't think I will mind too much.
Runner-up: Anthony's return on Project Runway. Although it meant losing Maya (who surprisingly quit) his entrance brought back a ray of sun that I was worried we would never see again. Not only did he get to come back, he won the challenge. If you are gonna come back, come back big, and no one came back bigger than Anthony.
Missed Moment: I always try to see the Ten Commandments as an Easter tradition, but unfortunately some last minute errands kept me away. Oh well, that's what DVD's are for.

Project Runway Recap: Hello Anthony!
Last time we said good-bye to Anthony, but this week brought a nice surprise. On with the recap.
Seth Aaron remarks that things are definitely quieter without Anthony, and you know what, it really does look that way. They seem too calm in the men's apartment. Where's the singing and loud, third person references? On the womens side, Maya is stressing, and feels that although she has done well, there is still so much for someone her age to learn. I think that takes great strength to recognize something like that. Not everyone is a wonder kid like Christian Soriano, however I do feel Maya did show great potential.
On the runway, Heidi announces that the designers will be working a red carpet look for a very difficult celebrity, which turned out to be none other than Heidi! That would just rack my nerves, and unfortunately for Maya, the pressure became too much. After a long talk with Tim, and the camera showing her empty space while the others were sketching away, Maya became the first designer in project runway history to quit the show. All the designers are stunned, as is the audience (well, at least the one in my house.) This means that someone needs to be brought back in order to even the playing field. Guess who?????? Lets just say the third person references are back in full force. Time wise, all the designers are stressing, and Jonathon even redid his dress three times.
At the runway, the designers are treated to a celebrity judge: Jessica Alba. I''m not a fan of her acting, but fashion wise, this girl is usually flawless. Everyone seems happy with their work (save Jonathon, but that was to be expected. Anthony and Emilio end up in the top two, while Mila, Seth Aaron, Jay and Jonathon are left at the bottom, with Jay and Jonathon deemed the worst. In a surprise twist, we get not one, but two winners in Emilio and Anthony, and Jonathon gets auf'd.
My thoughts: I'm so happy Anthony came back. He brings a certain amount of levity that cuts through the bitchy, making the drama bearable. I also wasn't a fan of the mermaid dress Emilio created, but I'm not the one who was going to wear it, Heidi is, so it really doesn't matter what I think. What do you think? Did the right person go home? Were you sad to see Maya go? Were you happy to have Anthony back?

Project Runway: Bye Bye Anthony
I know I made a big fuss when Jesse was auf'd a few weeks ago, but I really do think the judges got it wrong this time. Maybe I am basing this on personality more than talent, but no one can deny that a little spark left this week, and although there are is some bitchiness left in the mix (I do mean that in a good way) it just won't be the same.
The Challenge: Design your own print.
Using those wonderful HP tablets (I am still soooooo jealous) the remaining designers were asked to design their own print which would then be transferred into their own fabric. I don't think that's ever been done before on Runway, it was really neat to see the combination of fashion and technology (a connection I would have never made on my own.) There were some interesting choices, such as Jonathon's, Anthony's and Mila's, some bizarre (Emilio's "branding" of his initials. I almost died when Tim Gunn asked if the SA stood for Seth Aaron)and others were rather bold (Mya, who is still reeling from not having won a challenge)
On the runway, the judges admired Seth Aaron's and Mya's prints, while totally falling in love with Emilio's gamble. Jonathon, Mila, and Anthony disappointed, and ended up in the bottom three.
Winner: Emilio
Out: Anthony
I can't say I'm not surprised, but I am disappointed. I know that playing it safe is never a good thing, but you have to admit that Anthony seemed to create pieces that could easily be worn by anyone off the street. Perhaps that didn't show growth in the judges eyes, and as Mila put it, it might be difficult when creating a collection. On the flip side, Jonathon always seemed to go over the top, and even when going simple as with his print, it still came across as too conceptual. I guess the judges had to go with who they felt could make a Bryant park collection, and someone with vision will always over take simplicity. However, if you wanted to go with who totally bombed on the challenge, as it should be, then the one that should have gone home was Mila. Her print was boring and did not reflect what the challenge was about. Plus, the construction was horrible, and didn't even allow her model to walk properly down the runway. But I'm not Michale Corr's, so I can't send her home. (Though I do like to think I am just as quippy.)
Although he kept things lively, I was getting a little annoyed at all the third person references (I think I stopped counting around 5) but I am still sad to see him go. I'm pretty sure this isn't the last we will hear from Anthony.
