Art Clokey, who created the green clay figure known to the world as Gumby as well as Davey and Goliath, has passed away, according the article I read on Variety (read it here). He was 88 years old.
I'm more familiar with Gumby than I am with Davey and Goliath, but there is no question that each has had their impact on popular culture(with parodies on Moral Orel and MadTV, not to mention references on the Simpsons.)I might bust out some of the old Gumby tapes and relive some great childhood memories.
